“Mary was one of those people that was filled with gentle kindness. She loved the church and all her friends in the choir. It was the music ministry where those friends became rooted. In her memory, her estate included support for the Worship Arts program with the hopes that music can help bring others together.
Meet Mary Long
Mary was a long faithful RUMC member and spent much of her time in the Worship Arts ministry as the VP of the RUMC Sanctuary Choir and in the hand bells group, The Susanna Wesley Ringers. Mary and her best friend, Carolyn Cass, along with Dr. John Haberlen, began the first annual RUMC Patriotic concert in 1981. Before retirement, Mary was a dedicated school teacher. When mary passed in the 1990’s, her memorial endowment has continued her legecy by supporting the RUMC Worship Arts Concerts.
