Georgia Hornor Witschy Endowment

Providing financial support to the clergy’s discretionary RUMC Help Fund

Sometimes life’s greatest obstacles are unexpected and an emergency situation can make us feel like we are drowning. The Help Fund is a confidential fund where the RUMC clergy team can offer loving support to someone within our church community who need help through darkness.

Meet
Georgia Hornor Witschy

Georgia was truly a faithful servant of God.  Whether it was a long-time friend or a new acquaintance, when someone was going through something, her first thought was to provide comfort when comfort was needed most. She provided immediate ease with her ever-present radiant smile and loving eyes. She genuinely cared about their well-being and gave confidence that she would be there to continuously comfort them.  Along with her presence, she would bring comfort with her chocolate chip cookies or muffins and her southern pecan pie.

Years since her passing, friends still say “she was one in a million” and remain grateful for her friendship.  It is most appropriate that the proceeds from the endowment be used to continue to comfort those in need through the RUMC Help Fund.

Mom was a special woman and the most genuine person I’ve ever known. She truly had a heart of gold. Our world needs more people like her. I still think about her often and it always brings a smile to my face and sometimes a tear to my eye. We lost an amazing woman. However, I lucked out and have one of her recipe boxes. So, those muffins and pies live on!
