MARY BETH GILES | 2026 Harry L. Hall Scholar
Mary is the daughter of Kacy and Matt Giles. Homeschooled through Liberty University Online Academy, Mary challenged herself academically at every turn — completing Honors and AP coursework in Statistics, Calculus, and American Government, earning an exceptional score on the SAT, and completing 30 hours of dual enrollment coursework through Kennesaw State University. She will graduate in May 2026 and has been accepted into the University of Georgia, where she will pursue a degree in Genetics.
Mary's path through high school looks different from many of her peers — and that difference is a strength. Navigating a homeschool environment while simultaneously taking college-level courses, working at Scooter's Coffee, performing with a competitive dance company, and serving her church required exactly the kind of self-direction, adaptability, and quiet leadership that defines who Mary is.
Leadership, Service & Faith
Mary earned her place in the Dance Stop Company through audition — a competitive honor in itself. As a company member, she gives up weekends for rehearsals and performances, including visits to assisted living facilities where the dancers bring joy to residents.
